“You are what you eat”. Like most sayings, it carries volumes of wisdom. When discussing type 2 diabetes (as opposed to type1), diet is especially critical.
Some feel that since type 2 is acquired it can be also “de-acquired”. Reversed, if you will. The following 5 foods should be reduced if not eliminated from our diet to help reverse type 2 diabetes:
Not a shocker. Diabetes in times past was known as “sugar diabetes”. The human sweet tooth, unchecked, can bring on type 2 diabetes.
Although refined (as opposed to raw) sugar takes the most criticism, nature’s sweeteners are not blameless.
People often turn to raw honey and syrup, for example, to enhance their diet. While these are not as harmful as refined sugar, the best natural sweetener to incorporate into our diet is stevia.
Amazing how our body converts one substance into another. For example, carbohydrates are converted to sugar quickly. Grains, used to make bread and similar foods, are a normal staple in our diet. Popular grains certainly contain carbohydrates. What now?
First, read this article for some excellent info on grain “options” for those with blood sugar and/or diabetes concerns and issues.
Second, realize that grains are not evil. It’s just that some should be avoided, some are acceptable to those hoping to reverse diabetes naturally.
Here is a list of the preferred grains in that article, some well-known, some not:
♥ Buckwheat (O’Tay)
♥ Brown Rice
♥ Freekah (No, seriously)
Conventional cow’s milk
I know, I know. “No milk?” No cow’s milk! Relax, there are great tasty options. Incidentally, cow’s milk, like all dairy products, contains a substance in dairy called “A1 casein”. Our body reacts to this substance like it does to gluten, with a not-so-good immune response.
Milk options? Goat’s milk (not unheard of). Sheep’s milk. Even milk from A2 cows. “What are A2 cows?” you ask? I turned to the experts in the field (pun intended). Read this article for a semi-deep explanation.
As regards consuming other dairy foods, pasture raised animals are your best source, while “raw” and “organic” are words to look for too.
Sad, but true. Partaking of alcohol is a no-no if we’re serious about reversing type 2 diabetes. Obviously it’s sugar-laden, without mentioning its deleterious effects on the liver, other organs, judgment, etc. Sermon over……….
A very controversial topic, GMOs are a fairly recent man-made product. Controversial because proponents proclaim its benefits, while opponents warn of its negative health impact.
Support them or not, GMOs are more in our diet than we may know. Deferring to those more studied on GMOS and its relation to types 1 and 2 diabetes led me to this article.
In a related vein about common food-related products, hydrogenated oils such as canola oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, and vegetable oil likely have an adverse effect on efforts to reverse diabetes naturally. This article, last but not least, is worth a read.

First of all, I wouldn’t know protein if I saw a bowl full of it. I know it’s defined as a chain of amino acids. It/they are called the building blocks of life. It’s found in every cell of our body. We want protein! We need protein! (Sounds like Jack Nicholson in “A Few Good Men”. “You want me on that wall! You NEED me on that wall!”)
But, what if a well known source of protein, red meat, is something you avoid? You still need protein! Riddle me that, Batman! Well, here’s a list of some everyday foods that fill that need:
(And there’sa 3question quiz under the infographic. Just sayin’.)
Why would a person even consider a home remedy colon cleanser? Only 2 reasons I can think of. Improved health and upcoming surgery. We won’t touch on the surgical reason here. The other reason is “preventive maintenance”.
Like the Fram oil filter commercial back in the day. “Pay me now or pay me later!” We can remove toxins from our body now (to the degree possible) or encounter ill health later.
Because of what we eat, drink, and breathe, things that are unhealthy for us build up in the digestive system. Yes, the colon too. This accumulation is up to no good. Disease, lack of energy. The usual suspects. Eventually, a flush-out is called for. Kinda like every once in a while, rinsing out your garbage can! Want some homemade colon cleanser ideas? It’s okay, you’re among friends!
(Oh, BTW: Just thought I’d add this health box thing. Hope it helps…..)
Instant Health Snapshot
Go Green, It’s Real Popular
If you research “green colon cleanse recipe”, you’ll find that all ingredients aren’t totally green. This one is about as green as I could find:
1 stalk of celery
1 green apple
1 handful of flat leaf parsley leaves
4-5 kale leaves
smidgeon of fresh ginger
As far as a home remedy colon cleanser goes, this is a “juicing” recipe. By definition, this would remove most pulp. An option would be to put the appropriate components in a blender for a “smoothie”. Your call…………..
Keep in mind this is not the recipe for a nuclear device. It can be adjusted to taste and by all means, tread slowly. Remember, you’re putting it in your body.
I grabbed this cleanse recipe from this website, so I want to give credit where due. Plus, there’s tons more healthy info there. And in case you’re wondering, no, I have no affiliation with that site. Just respect. “R-E-S-P-E-C-T, check them out and you will see.”
Try A Little Green,ALotta Fruit
You want it a little sweeter, dontcha? Then try this concoction:
→ 1 apple (coreless, seedless)
→ 2 oranges (no peel, of course)
→ 1 cup spinach
→ 1 kale leaf
→ 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
→ An added tennis ball-sized portion of fibrous fruit/veggie (optional)
Blendify or juicify, and bottoms up. Whew! Now that’s a homemade colon cleanser! A spoonful of (natural) sugar makes the (cleanse) medicine go down……….
A recent darling of the health food craze has been the acai berry. Check out this detox information about the acai berry and it’s cleansing properties.
Aloe Vera Cleanse: True Roughage
You can’t believe what this green spiky plant is evidently capable of! (No, I don’t mean as a lead singer in a punk rock band). Check out this article to find out what it can help. Mostly digestive stuff. And here’s a home remedy colon cleanser using aloe vera:
⇒ 1 cup aloe vera juice
⇒ 1 banana
⇒ 1/2 cucumber (medium)
⇒ 1/2 cup of rolled oats
⇒ 1/2 cup of blueberries
⇒ 5 leaves of Swiss chard
⇒ 2 kale leaves
⇒1 cup of spinach
⇒ 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Okay, throw it all in a juicer or blender, and fire it up! Of course, the juicer removes almost all the pulp, which is like only waxing your cars paint…on the top surfaces! I’d go “nutri” whatever, as opposed to juicing. Your choice……………
Tea For One
There’s a tee-time, and then there’s tea-time. Nobody thinks of tea as a colon-related product but there are teas that detox. As in: have a laxative effect. One plant/herb in particular is the Senna plant, which can be used to make tea. For a fairly detailed description of this plants profile, go to this government website page.
And Then There Is……
The dark side of the moon. One interesting cleanse for a healthy colon is a psyllium and bentonite clay cleanse.
Bentonite clay is weathered and aged volcanic ash. Reputed for extreme absorbency (is that even a word?) of toxins, water, and organic substances.
Psyllium is a fiber from the Plantago Ovata plant. Put ’em together, and you have “A” absorbing bodily pollutants, and “B” escorting them out. Google this, and you’ll actually see it available online and in health stores. In the home remedy colon cleanser category, it’s a bit gutsy. Lol. Of course, research it. Caveat emptor.
Lose Weight….At The Feet Of The Master
Maybe the darker side of the moon. “The Master Cleanse”. I won’t try to delve deep into it. This article is a basic fruit and veggie guide, but the master cleanse is a tad sketchier. Great for cleansing, and for weight loss. However……some uncool effects of this method make it a physician-consulting situation. Look into at your own peril . . . . or avoid . . . .
After It’s Done, Add These To Your Clean Slate
When you want to learn how to cleanse your colon naturally at home, remember: not everything in a colon “pre-cleanse” is vile and contemptible. Our digestive system, from saliva to _________ employs enzymes/nutrients/etc. Cleansing removes some of these prebiotics and probiotics, which are our friends. Thankfully, we can replenish such bacteria “friends” in the colon by eating certain common foods. They may be on our regular menu anyhow. Here’s some common ones:
Leeks (garlic’s second cousin)
Some less common “friends”:
Kimchee (not the North Korean leader…)
Kefir (not from “24”)
Jerry’s Final Thought:
A homemade colon cleanser can be viewed like a vehicle oil change. The more regular it’s done, the better and longer the performance. Just like you can change your own oil, you can easily learn how to cleanse your colon naturally at home. The overview here will hopefully propel you to maintain your body like the Ferrari it can be!
Before you watch the riveting (less than 2 minute) video below, how about a colon quiz? Aw, come on!
In this order: No, Yeah, No, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. The 2 forbidden ones will admittedly take discipline, but the sweetness of victory (less/no belly fat) will remain long after the bitterness of denial is forgotten. Shakespeare, I believe. No, Bob Dylan.
1. Carbs: How Low Can You Go?
Well, going to 0 carbs isn’t necessary or sane, but when trying to lose stomach fat the lower the better. A low-carb diet is not just hype. Numerous reputable studies have shown the power of such a method. Don’t believe me? Read on.
9 or 10 studies may be numerous to some, but how about 23? You can read a brief synopsis of those studies at this site. You would think that to help lose stomach fat you would us e a low fat diet, not a low-carb diet. Eau contraire, as the studies demonstrate.
Some of the studies, interestingly, allowed the low-carb group to eat as much as desired, but put caloric restrictions on the low-fat subjects. The low-carb approach still gave superior results.
Part of the reason for low-carb success is that when less carbs are consumed, there is a corresponding decrease in appetite. Diminish hunger and you diminish intake. Ergo, lose stomach fat. Elementary, Watson.
Everyone knows that water weight loss isn’t as desirable as fat loss. However, the psychological water loss “pat on the back” quickly given on the low-carb diet just helps us stick to a fat-burning low-carb victory. Booyah!
What a low-carb diet seems to do is remove fat specifically from critical areas. The liver: a critical area, agreed? A study respected enough to be referred to on a government website concluded that a low-carb diet decreased fat on the liver in subjects with “fatty liver disease”. Go to this site for that study and look at “Conclusions”. It’s in “medicalese” but specific. Low-carb is beneficial, and not just to lose stomach fat.
And since today’s subject is stomach fat, (the stomach being a critical health area), that fat also is noticeably removed by a low-carb approach to eating.
Oh, and incidentally, as a service to my devoted visitors I hereby direct you to this site, if you so choose. It has a sample low-carb diet menu which is also downloadable. Sometimes a little help/push in the right direction gets the locomotive going. Seeing that appealing simple menu might be the boost you need to lose your stomach fat.
2. Fiber: Not Just For Clothing Anymore
Back in my day we called it “roughage”. But times were different. It was a “rough age”. Today it’s called “fiber”. Eating fiber-type foods is great for weight loss and in order to lose stomach fat, with a little twist.
The twist is that there is great fiber, and greaterer fiber. (not a typo) The fiber that is best for weight loss is “viscous” fiber. Viscous fiber unites with water/fluid internally and forms a slightly thick pastey glob that takes its sweet time digesting.
“And, eat2bthin, this is good why?” you ask. “Why is this important to lose stomach fat?”
Because this temporary roadblock makes us feel full longer which means we slow down or stop the eating frenzy. At least a little. Not to mention the eventual “exit” of the fiber and its (ahem) cleansing tendencies. Oh dear, that was uncomfortable to type.
Since I’ve already opened the can of worms called “clinical studies” if you go to this respected source it concludes that the addition of 14 grams of fiber daily (about 1/2 ounce) is linked to a 10% decrease in calories eaten and also losing 4 1/2 pounds in 4 months. A keeper!
As usual, fruits and veggies to the fibrous rescue! Legumes and oats are also good sources. Brussel sprouts, turnips, sweet potatoes and asparagus are at the top of the leaderboard. If you want to lose stomach fat, these are vital.
In closing , you might want to check out glucomannan. It’s available as a supplement. It is one of the most viscous dietary fibersyou’ll find anywhere. Fun fact: glucomannan is the main ingredient in shirataki noodles.
3. Protein Is Part Of The “End Game”
It’s jet fuel for the body! If you want to cruise in the health “fast lane” you can’t gas up on 89 octane food. Protein is premium petrol, man. We already know it’s energy in edible form, and to lose stomach fat, it’s vital.
I don’t cite and quote numerous detailed clinical studies, but I will mention one in particular. This study established a tie between protein consumption and reduced abdominal fat. In its discussion at the end (basically its synopsis), it pointed out the study’s data as indicating that protein intake “may play an important role in regulating CAF, which is a strong independent marker for disease and mortality.” Translation?
A protein-rich diet helps control Central Abdominal Fat (CAF), and that belly fat contributes to making us sickly and dead. That’s a good reason to lose stomach fat. Just for the record, here’s the study, if you’re dying to read some spellbinding literature.
Protein reduces appetite! Says who? Even though I don’t want to make this boring, so says nutrition. org, that’s who! And over 11,000 plus websites have a link to them! 11,001 including mine. That’s internet street cred! At least their study information isn’t too boring. See for yourself.
Hmmm…Protein, protein, wherefore art thou, protein? Answer: find and consume protein from the usual suspects: meat, seafood, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy foods. Raw and /or unprocessed is best, because man’s food processing plants haven’t improved on nature’s nutrition factories. The mission to lose stomach fat is sometimes just basic!
Yeah, I know. It’s not always conveeeeeeeeeeeeenient to eat and/or prepare that stuff. Thank goodness for man’s processing efforts, which I just ridiculed. Because there are supplements around like whey protein, which are excellent for people on the go, like us.
Lose stomach fat by getting my protein from meat? Fish? Poultry? Dairy? What if I’m a vegetarian? Don’t get wrapped around the axle! The finest minds have put up a website to help us. Go to this cool site to check it out. Now on to No-No # 2…………
4. Sugar: Good For The Archies, Bad For The Belly
Remember “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies in the 60’s? It was written for The Monkees to do. It was sickeningly sweet and dangerous, just like real sugar. Real sugar that’s gonna mess up your plan to lose stomach fat. Avoid sugar like you would disco.
In 1977, by means of a Senate Select Subcommittee, the United States Government created the “Dietary Goals For The United States” report, which brought about the “fat is bad” trend. (You can read and even download it by clicking here. It’s interesting, really).
In real terms, this meant eggs, cholesterol, meat, butter, etc. These guidelines are based in a measure of wisdom, but watch out for the law of unintended consequences.
As expected, the food industry complied and brought a plethora of low-fat “health foods” to the market, which removed a lot of that thing called “flavor”. Not very appealing or profitable. Hmmmmm……
The resulting flavor deficit is why the food industry added a whole bunch of sugar to their foods to compensate for the lack of fat. That’s why sugar a-plenty has been added to a lot more foods than we’d expect.
Sugar is so embedded in American cuisine that every 7 hours or so each American consumes the sugar equivalent of a 12 ounce soda. 200 years ago it took 5 days to do that, according to this doctor.
It has also been estimated that the average American consumes about 355 calories per day in sugar! That’s about 70 pounds annually! No wonder it’s hard to lose stomach fat.
This relates to stomach fat because excess sugar consumption overwhelms the liver with fructose (a form of sugar). What it can’t convert to useful things it converts to fat. And where is that fat prone to land ? Yeah, the stomach. So sad.
The Sweet Conclusion
This national sugar overdose is visible in an obesity problem and throngs of people looking for diets that work fast for belly fat. If you’re looking to lose stomach fat, lose the sugar habit!
5. Aerobic Exercise
You knew that action is required to lose stomach fat! You tried to block it out of your mind. You can run, but you can’t hide. In fact, you should run. That’s a great aerobic exercise.
Aerobic means “relating to, involving, or requiring free oxygen”. Its aim is to force the body to utilize more oxygen through mild or strenuous activity. Aerobics have a beneficial effect on the path to lose stomach fat.
Let’s not confuse aerobics to reduce stomach fat with a psychotic blizzard of crunches to employ a “spot reduction” strategy. Uhhhh……doesn’t work too well. Or at all. Look at the middle few sentences of this clinical study, it says so. But if you go crunch-crazy, you’ll at least be more muscular. You’ll have that goin’ for ya’. Which is nice.
Visceral Adipose Tissue. You know, belly fat. This study has data showing that “aerobic exercise is central for exercise programmes aimed at reducing VAT” and you can quote me on that. Why not, I just quoted them! AKA aerobics helps you lose stomach fat.
How about a fairly extensive list of aerobic exercise? I thought I’d never ask!
Stair Climbing (real stairs)
Skating (ice, roller)
Here, There, And Everywhere
6. Keep Track Of What You Eat!
To lose stomach fat takes a plan. A laid-out strategy and a periodic review of the success of that strategy. The best diet to lose stomach fat should encompass the 5 subheadings above.
It’s way too fanatical to be as detailed as some of the studies mentioned in this article, but the same discipline used in tracking our intake will make us stick to our strategy!
Since the quest to lose stomach fat often involves calorie info, go to this site for a free calorie calculator and more valid info about nutrition and weight loss. May your desire to lose stomach fat be realized faster than you think! Ciao!
Oh yeah. Watch this 1 1/2 minute video. A couple good links on it.
(Note to readers/visitors: This article discusses the importance of honey. I know this site focuses on weight loss, but I started researching how sleep loss can be hindering weight loss, which led to honey enhancing a good night’s sleep, and then this in-depth look at the healing properties of honey, and its uses. So the honey-weight loss circle has not been really broken. Please direct your hate mail to your favorite politician. Respectfully, eat2bthin.)
Honey-Not Just A Term Of Endearment
(Do those letters above look like the color of honey? I tried to make a custom color for that headline that’s the color of honey. Well, everybody has an off day…….) Most people probably like eating honey. Tastes pretty good. But there are some little-known medicinal uses of honey that I’ll reveal to ya’ll right now.
Nectar? I Never Even Met Her! (the effect of honey on the biggest killers, disease-wise)
Heart disease? Yeah, that’s a biggie! And honey’s antioxidants come in handy for heart protection. At the University of Illinois, “food scientists” discovered that honey is full of antioxidants. In studies they conducted, honey decreased the rate of oxidation of harmful LDL cholesterol in human blood. When LDLs become oxidized, your heart’s welfare is threatened. Oxidized LDL cholesterol loves to start building up on the inner walls of our blood vessels, slowly choking off normal blood flow. Outcome: heart attack and/or stroke. So is honey good for your heart? Does Joanie love Chachi? Sho nuff! Preventive maintenance: Honey—the darker, the better.
Cancer? This killer can also be opposed by eating honey. Incidentally, I said “opposed”, not conquered. Honey can be a great weapon in the pursuit of a cancer-free life. There is a journal called Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. An article there revealed that chemicals in honey called polyphenols help keep various types of cancer cells from reproducing. Additionally, here is an article that seems to scientifically establish a link between eating raw honey and lower cancer risk. A great reason to consider the use of honey in our diet.
There are more medicinal uses of honey I’ll mention soon, but first a few syllables about honey’s anti-insomnia effect.
How Does Sting Sleep Better? With His Honey!
The nutritional value of honey helps us sleep better. Here’s why: A substance called “glycogen” is manufactured in our liver. It’s related to glucose and is the fuel our brain needs to operate smoothly. To produce glycogen, your (and my) liver requires glucose as well as fructose, plus various vitamins and minerals. And go figure, honey has an ample supply of all those ingredients! So if you eat a teaspoon or 2 of honey just before “lights out”, assuming no recent gastronomic craziness recently, you should sleep like a baby. When part of your diet is honey, weight loss is easier. But remember, don’t eat honey if you’re a baby. Bad idea, and an inappropriate use of honey. And if you’d like to peruse a brief but well-written article on the brain and glycogen, go here. It was a little deep for me, but not much. For you, it’ll probably be a no-brainer. Get it? No-brainer?
Honey Is (Pro-Life And) Antibiotic
In the 1940s antibiotics began to be used in treating burns and wounds. Prior to that honey was the accepted dressing called for. Antibiotic applications and creams harm healthy cells. The importance of honey is that it does no such thing. Which is why, on top of its culinary uses, honey, in one or more of its types (more on that later) is used by the medical industry. Medical, as in doctors and hospitals and such. When researching articles a writer should refer to and cite credible sources. Like a reputable source claiming honey is used in modern medical treatment. Here’s one: check out this article. Mainly read paragraph 2 under “Introduction”. Enlightening and an old school method. Natural, effective. Certainly one of the best medicinal uses of honey. It’s all good……..
Hey! What About Hay Fever? (Allergies)?
One of the best honey uses: Did you ever hear about how if you eat a teaspoon of local honey everyday for _____ years, any pollen-related allergies you had would clear up? I always heard it was 2 years. Since clinical testing for this was never carried on (no financial reason to do testing, I guess) science “authorities” are ambivalent about the validity of doing this. But for a healthy adult with allergies, it’s a tasty test to perform.
Some Off-The-Wall Benefits Of Honey
It’s great on toast and in tea, but there’s an article about extra benefits from the use of honey you may not know about. It’s a cool slide show thing that you can watch/read by clicking here.
Warning: If They Can’t Spell It, They Can’t Have It!!!
(I should have written that headline in red.)
Never give honey to children under 12 months of age; spores found in honey can cause botulism in infants. That would certainly cancel out the nutritional value of honey for the little tyke. And if your 6 month old child can spell “honey”, call the Guinness Book people.
If you go to http://wikipedia.com and search for “honey” you’ll see a list towards the bottom of 11 types of honey. But it’s generally sold/marketed in the following 3 forms:
We can call this: Pure. Uncut. Raw. The Good Stuff. Comb honey is that and more. Like plucking an apple off a tree and taking a bite. As natural as natural can be, the hexagonal honeycomb is part of raw honey (technically), and ,weirdly enough, is just as edible as the honey within. And with sanitary packaging, it’s for sale by real live companies. Healthy enzymes, pollen, etc. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!
Talk about an eye-opening experience! Honey, and its production and marketing for sale, is a more complex subject than I thought when researching this article. (It ain’t like growing and selling tomatoes!) When raw honey is “processed”, microfiltering and heating it yields a food that evidently bears little nutritional resemblance to its raw counterpart. By nature, processing honey uses methods that vastly decrease its nutritional value. Essentially, health experts highly recommend raw over processed. For a very interesting article about international trade controversy regarding honey, and how processing ties in, go to this article. This is one of the uses of honey for financial benefit. LOL. Where politics, money, and honey collide!!!
Comb honey minus comb=raw honey. The bare minimum “processing” may or may not be done to prepare it for retail sale, but no chemical changes, heating, etc. That means that its natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and 600+ essential oils are ready to pump you up!
Oh Honey, Where Are You?
If you ever wondered to yourself “Ziegfried, I wonder where my local honey supplier is?”, you need not be in the dark. Just go to http://www.honey.com/honey-locator/ and find out! I have no affiliation with them, I just Googled “honey.com”, and voila! There they were! And if that’s not sweet enough, go to localharvest.org.
Support Your Local Beekeeper! Because…..
They’re not just ultra cool insects, but one of the necessary uses of honey bees is food production! Approximately 1/3 of the food we consume owes its existence to bees and their pollination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The value of bees, and importance of honey, is not to be overlooked.
Helpthe Honeybees, Preserve Honey!
Colony Collapse Disorder. That’s the name given to a recent frightening trend that is mysteriously causing bee colonies to slow production and even cease to function. Some analysts think it may be due in part to the use of commercial insecticides. Neonicotinoids, as they’re called, were banned in the European Union for just that reason. To do our part to preserve bees/hives/colonies/honey, we can purchase produce from organic farms that shun such pesticides, and likewise honey from local beekeepers who have gone organic. (As I mentioned, localharvest.org is a good place to look.) And please watch the video below that’s just over 1 minute long.
The Heart-Stopping Conclusion
We’ve asked the question: Is honey good for your heart? (Yes) We’ve learned the healing properties of honey and how it magically promotes restful sleep, and the resulting tendency towards weight loss. The importance of honey is directly linked to the success of organic beekeepers, so support your local insecticide-free beekeeping folks. Best wishes in your health/weight loss efforts!

If the issue of gluten is in your daily life, you’ll like this article for its simplicity. Why that color for simplicity? Couldn’t tell ya. But if you suffer from celiac disease, knowing what foods to avoid should be an easy process. This info should help.
Gluten: Not Omnipresent
The presence of gluten, to someone with celiac disease, is annoying but it’s not in all tasty and nutritious foods. In fact, it’s only found in the “grain” family, biologically speaking. (Also known as the grass family, if you’re the least bit curious.) But not every member of the grain family contains gluten. Just like all the members of your own “family tree” have DNA connections, but not all of them are irritating. Just some. Here’s the list of the irrititating “evil 6”:
I don’t know about you, but if I had celiac disease, avoiding triticale and kamut would be easy. I never heard of ’em! But the other 4 are very common and would seem difficult to live without. But wait!!! There’s great news of similar foods that can easily fill the void left by the absence of the “evil6”.
The Beneficial Bunch (more than 6 for sure)
Thankfully there are many foods, that are also vegan in nature, that are gluten-free and tasty replacements.
Yes, oats are gluten free. However, it’s good to recognize that if oats are processed in a facility that also processes gluten-containing grains, there could be cross-contamination. Also, a protein found in oats named “avenin” is biochemically similar to gluten, so if you have celiac disease you may have a reaction to avenin. You’d be safest consulting a health care professional re: that. I’m just sayin’.
Approved for consumption by those who are gluten-intolerant. No gluten here, buddy………
Fear not, lovers of that which covers the cob! (Shakespeare?) Gluten is not, I repeat: not found in corn!
Eat as much as you want, it’s gluten-free. Would you believe quinoa was named after Anthony Quinn and Noah? Get it? Quinn-noah? Joking. It’s pronounced “keen-wah”, which will be on the final exam.
Whatever amaranth is, it doesn’t contain gluten. Why? Because it, like quinoa, is part of the “amaranth” family, not the grain family. So chow down on amaranth, kids…….And in a meaningless BTW, quinoa and amaranth are called “pseudograins” because of their resemblance to grains. But they’re just posers.
Fruits and Vegetables
This should make your gluten problem muuuuuuch easier: there is no gluten in fruits and vegetables. As it turns out, they’re great for health. If only our parents had always told us to eat them. nyuk nyuk
Yes and no. Yes, I am unhinged. And no, nuts do not contain gluten.
No, with an explanation, your honor. Seeds (pecans, walnuts, almonds) contain 0 gluten UNLESS they come from the “evil 6” mentioned above. So eat all the chia, sesame, pumpkin, sunflower, hemp, flax, and poppy seeds you want.
Algae and Sea Vegetables
Jump in, the water’s fine! These too are gluten-free.
Legumes (last but not least)
If you like legumes like I like legumes, just pick up a shovel and get to eatin’!!! Check this out: legumes aren’t in the grain family, but in the “legume” family. So gluten is not an issue. And for those who like the convenience of having a gluten-free box full of healthy snacks sent right to their door, click here >>>Gluten-Free Box. They are currently offering 1st time clients a massive discount, and they donate meals to the less fortunate . Give it a look-see. Oh yeah, free shipping……….

(Hello visitors, eat2bthin here. Every ounce of this site has been my sole creation. With this one teeny-weeny exception: the following article. It was evidently written by the creator of a very popular weight loss program, The 3 week Diet. I felt it appropriate to let him describe his product as it’s his baby. Please don’t be too upset with me. Let him without sin throw away the first pork chop. Enjoy his article………………….)
If you have ever watched any of those health related TV shows like ‘Dr. Oz’ or ‘The Doctors’, you would get the impression that it’s extremely difficult to lose weight fast. They’ll tell you that it can take month after month to shed the pounds, and sometimes even years. But I’m here today to tell you that that it is simply not true.
My name is Brian and I am the creator of The 3 Week Diet. I have spent years researching and working with nutritionists and dieticians to develop a diet system that is so advanced and effective that it is able to help you lose 1 lb of pure body fat every single day. Over the course of 3 weeks on the diet, you can lose more than 20 pounds of fat off your belly, butt, hips, and thighs and achieve the body of your dreams with little to no exercise involved. But how is this possible?
As you would know, the human body is highly adaptable. If you cut your finger, the body would heal itself in a matter of days – regenerating new cells as soon as the change is noticed. Well, if you make a big enough change to your diet, the body can adapt right away too by burning fat in your body at a rapid speed. But what you need to do to kick start this change? Is it exercise? Cutting certain foods out of your diet? Drinking a special tea? Eating certain berries? No, it is none of those things. In fact, it is much more simple than you’d think.
You see, the human metabolism is like a furnace for your body. It burns up every source of fuel inside your body – from the food you have eaten, to fat that has been stored. But, one thing you have to know about the metabolism is that it will burn what was last eaten first, before it starts burning the fat on your body. As a result, by the end of the day, no matter what you have eaten, your body won’t have had time to start burning the fat from around your body. But what if you could change this? What if you could make it so your metabolism actually prefers to burn the fat in your body first, and then burns the food you have eaten?
Think about a campfire. What would happen if you poured a gallon of gasoline onto the fire? It would go up in flames and burn a thousand times more! Well, fat is a fuel source just like gasoline. If your metabolism gets that fat from your body and starts burning it, it makes the metabolism even stronger and more powerful, so it continues to burn even more fat in the process. You see, it is like a cyclic effect. The more fat your metabolism burns, the more fuel it will have to burn, and in turn it will burn even more fat! So what do you do to get this started?
To make the switch so that your metabolism starts burning body fat first, you need to include some very specific foods into your diet. This doesn’t mean you have to restrict yourself to eating certain types of foods like ‘low carb’ or ‘high protein’, but it just means you need to add some secret foods to your current diet. These foods are quite unknown, but they contain metabolism-shifting properties that initiate the fat-burning process. You can get all these foods at your local supermarket and they won’t cost you any more than a candy bar. Plus, they don’t taste bad either!
I have made a list and plan of all these foods on my website at The 3 Week Diet. I explain how each of them works, and how much fat they are able to melt. Keep in mind, this is all based on years of scientific research and there is medical data to back this up. So, if you are looking to lose weight fast, The 3 Week Diet is the best way to do so. No other diet allows you to lose this much fat as quickly, and lets you keep it off for good.
The sixth sick sheikh’s sheep…….”Now stop that!!!” (talking to myself) Today, boys and girls, we”ll discuss weight loss through blood, sweat, and tears. Focusing on the “sweat” part. Using a waist belt. Seriously. They’re all over the TV. I saw one on my local Spanish channel. “Mi estomago es muy grande”. Otherwise known as, my stomach is very large. Time to deal with that. With a waist belt.
“To Buy, Or Not To Buy?” (Shakespeare & Me)
News flash: nothing is perfect! Anything you can think of as perfect I can point out a downside to. Try me, I double-dog dare ya’! I’ll prove it with the waist belt designed to help us lose weight.
Get It Because:
You lose weight! Well, you do! I know, sweat is almost all water. Water is not real weight loss. We want to burn fat, not just lose water. Yada yada yada. But psychologically, using a waist belt is a confidence booster. Always a plus!
It’s reusable. Like any non-edible weight loss tool, you buy it once and use it over and over. A penny saved, waste not want not, etc. Of course, after using it you will wash it, right?
A waist belt is cheaper than a treadmill. Research it. As usual, I’m right…………
Some (most?) can be worn under our “street clothing”. So weight loss can be an all day event.
Putting it on and taking it off is easy peasy cheddar cheesy.
Storage? Come on now, it’s a bloomin’ waist belt! Store it anywhere. Quick and easy we aim to pleasy. Not exactly a minus.
Forget It Because:
Same ol’ sameol’ number 1: You’re only losing water weight. Not all that weight is really lost. Unlike disco, it’s coming back! :+(
Can’t think of a number 2. Writer’s block, or ??????
It’s grade school math
6-2=………..Well, I recommend buying a waist belt. After all, it probably won’t be the dumbest money you or I ever spent…….
